Working with Wool

So all the rain give blue colours and the warmth of wool is great as the summer is quite cool, great huh? A coffee cozy for  Craft My Life All Crafts challenge and Anything But A Card. Some easy felting is never wrong, I had a few forgotten pieces of wool in a box.

Keeps the coffee hot for a while!

I got the Blues

Hello sweeties, I've been enjoying the holidays and I seem to be stuck in blue colours, could it be all the rain? So the good thing about the rain is that I've found lots of fabby tutorials as Tamara Laparte's Processing Feelings through creativity. The short version is that when in distress scribble down feelings, thoughts and physical stuff and then use soothing colours and create art over the scribble.

You can se some of the scribble here.

My first face was a very upset gnome with a bathing cap, when I applied white gesso over it the face turned to a beauty. So I'm entering Art It Friday Show your Face , Art Journal Every Day and Paint Party Friday with her.

Materials used:
Stamplorations and Tim Holtz stencils
Derwent charcoal and watercolour pens
Liquitex gesso, white acrylic paint and pens, Uni pin pen and....

Have a wonderful creative weekend!

Life in a seashell

Summer of colours has inspired me to use three colours, here's the first one that I missed, 2 blue and 1 green. I won some stamps from Stamplorations and got this lovely set as an extra gift, the owner is very kind and helpful.

Other challenges:
Less is more: Life's a beach

Materials used:
Watercolour paper, embossing ink and Weathered wood distress embossing powder, Stamplorations image and sentiment, Moss Green Aqua Marker, regal blue Citadel colour and Lagoon Blue Cosmic shimmer, Itsy Bitsy tiny sequins.

First I stamped and embossed, then I added some water onto the image, then the colours, the darkest first and the lightest at last.  The colours mix nicely and give that lovely effect like that. Then some splatters of Cosmic Shimmer.

Thank you so much for visiting, it's much appreciated! I've been having a quiet weekend as we went to a concert at Friday evening and it was sooooo cold and damp that I caught a little summer cold. It was only 10 degrees and it's supposed to be summer?! I'm feeling much better and I've thoroughly enjoyed some crafting indoors :)

The largest flower ever

Hello sweeties, we have a new challenge at Sweet Stampin', no designer paper. Remember that you need to stamp, digi or rubber doesn't matter. My stamping effort wasn't a grande one, only the sentiment, but the flower is even the more overwhelming. But now when I think about it, I used an embossing folder for stamping and embossing :)

We're being sponsored by Flat Friends, please check our blog for all the details and to see the teams gorgeous cards.

Materials used:
I applied Aqua Markers at one side of a fabulous Itsy Bitsy embossing folder, spritzed a mist of water, layered up the paper and ran in it through the Cuttlebug.

Impression Obsession sentiment stamped with Aqua Marker and Brushed Corduroy Distress ink (to get the right colour), heat embosssed with clear embossing paper. Itsy Bitsy flower. DQWV and Panduro cardstock.

Thank you so much for visiting, it's much appreciated!

Thank you so much for visiting, it's much appreciated. I'll make my blog visits tomorrow.

Beautiful Baby Blues

This card blew me away, sometimes the magic just happens. The softness of clouds in a card! The secret is Brushos, the more I use them the more I love them, and no, I'm not sponsored in any way. For this card I panted the wet watercolour paper with them, the darkest layer at the bottom of the card then just light brush strokes upwards.

So think about baby cuddles and pick up the colours you would love to use for a Baby card and join our Precious Baby challenge at Simply Create Too. It doesn't have to be a card either, if you need to make a gift box.

Materials used:
Hero Arts background image stamped with embossing ink onto Watercolour paper, heat embossed with a mix of pearl and sparkly embossing powders.
Brushed a layer of water onto the watercolour paper and the the diluted Brushos. Dried gently off any excess colours from the embossed areas with a piece of cloth.
Stamped the Tilda images with Watering Can Archival Ink onto a scrap of vellum, added some Baby Blue Liquid Pearls to the edges and highlights with a white Sakura pen.
Layered it onto Panduro cardstock with various scraps.

Thank you so much for visiting, it's much appreciated!

Hot, hot summer colours

Last week of Summer of Colours, I have really enjoyed the three weeks I could participate. It has been so inspiring to see all the takes on the colours. I'm still caught by charcoal and watercolours, this time with an hommage to a great artist. The first one to leave a comment with the artist name and painting will receive a small gift with some crafty goodies.

I used Winsor & Newton Cadmium Orange, Derwent Orange Chrome and  Spectrum Blue.

And a Stamplorations stencil for the waves, Liquitex matte medium and white acrylic colour pen, metallic blue Sakura pen, a dash of blue Liquid Pearls, black Uni Pin pens.

Lots of love and hugs

The best laid schemes

I saw Ceasar must die by Taviani, it was quite expressive and raised a lot of thoughts. I must have had the film in my mind whilst I was inspired by an Italian artist's video about how to draw a Mouse.

Thank you so much for visiting, it's much appreciated! I'll go on a blogg stroll and get lots of inspiration from you too, have wonderful weekend, sweeties. And lots of warm thoughts if you need some :)

Love and hugs

P.S. Now I noticed that the Mouse has my lips, oh dear!

Living is easy

We're having a Bear theme at Sweet Stampin', I thought I'd show my first attempt too. I so admire all House Mouse and Gruffies cards, but when I attempt colouring them they so often go horribly wrong and end in the bin. I can draw faces and make sketches, paint and shadow. But colour Gruffies, oh no! I keep telling myself that they're kind of cute monochromatic :)

Fab'n'Funky: Inspired by a Song (Summertime by G. Gershwin)
Dream Valley Challenges: Distressing (Distress inks for colouring and a distressed cardmaker)

Materials used:
House Mouse stamps, Broken China Distress ink, Watering Can Archival ink, Spellbinder dies, Card Candi, DQWV Cardstock

Reminds me of bottle caps!

Sweet Mrs Ella and Mr Louis.

Thank you so much for visiting, it's much appreciated! The first week of Holiday has passed, glad that there are a few more to enjoy.

Can you find what I missed?

Hehe, you should never make anything in a hurry, I should have written that he knew that he'd.....and I'm feeling lazy and won't start all over with the photo tent.

I'm linking to these places:
Summer of Colour week 5: 2 green colours and 1 pink
Art It Friday: Show Your Face
Art Journal Every Day
Paint Party Friday

I had so much fun making this page, I got a free web lesson about drawing and was ready with mine a long way before the teacher, see I'm often swift. It was with a live modell so that felt a bit strange. But I might need to go back if I can learn something new.

Here are my colours, a stippling brush had to much yellow in it, so it changes the eyes perception of the pale ink colour. The old chipboard embellies matches much better. So I guess I'm cheating a bit too. I might have to wait for the sun set too :)

Materials used:
Derwent charcoal and watercolour pens, Distress inks, Studio Modern Red acrylic paint, Liquitex acrylic pens, Gesso and white paint. Stamploraitions stencil, old chipboards and sketch paper.

Thank you ever so much for visiting, it means the world for me.

Hot and red

First day of the summer holidays, it's over 30 C and the sun is beaming. So the colours of today are hot and red, I'm not sure about them, but this is what happened in the crafty corner today. I tried my best to do something cute or beautiful, but there emerged this very angry young woman...all the time. I painted over 5 or 6 times, she was still so angry! So well, we have to follow our heart, if there is an angry young woman, let her out.

Art It Friday: Show your Face
Summer of colour 4: Two red colours and metallic

Studio Modern Red Acrylic, Crimson Promarker and Bronze Perfect Pearl

Can you see her angry look?! Very scary!!!

Materials used:
DQWV card stock, a masked That Special Touch stencil to make the brighter hearts.
Liquitex Matte medium, Acrylic paint and pens, PIN waterproof pens, Derwent Charcoal and pastel pens, Tilda apple stamp, QK heart die, Panduro small heart punch.

Thank you so much for visiting, it's much appreciated! Hope you're having a great week with time for crafting.
